The Old Plough
From the mid-16th Century, the Plough site was a mailings & ale house, it was refurbished in 1838 and served as one of the village pubs and Coaching Inn for a further 110years until 1948.
Constructed from local limestone with a Collyweston Slate roof this charming old house together with 'stables block' and 'Coach house is now Grade II listed and retains many of its original and distinctive features such as; the beer cellar, meeting rooms and the pine paneled 'snug bar'.
The extensive gardens and orchard lead to the rolling fields of the Welland River Valley and a view of Rockingham Hill. The Castle just over a mile away (as the arrow flies) is situated at the top of the hill and is well worth a visit.
The property is suitable for business travelers with its excellent road links and families visiting the area or people in-between moving house and waiting for the final pieces of the jigsaw to fall into place.
The kitchen has plenty of cooking utensils, a hob and electric oven.
The property is fitted with a device which monitors the noise level, temperature, the number of people in the property, motion within the property, humidity and moisture. All of these can be checked remotely in real time and the device is programmed to alert us if any of the items monitored exceed a programmed threshold.
*** Strictly no smoking through the property ***

Neighborhood overviewEngland’s smallest county, Rutland,(population less than 40 thousand people) has recently regained its independent county status from Leicestershire. Close to Leicester, Market Harborough, Corby and Kettering and near to the A14.
Rutland is now firmly established as a commercial 'hub'. It is renowned for such culinary delights as prizewinning Melton Mowbray pork pies, regional cheeses and locally brewed 'Grainstore Ales'. Food and drink apart, Caldecott & the county of Rutland have much to offer holidaymakers and business travelers alike.
Getting aroundThe 'Old Plough' is situated on the main (A6003) road through Caldecott, opposite the village green and the Plough public house.
The village is located about 3 miles north of Corby, 8 miles north from junction 7 of the A14 and 4 miles south of Uppingham and Rutland Water.
The Plough Free house and the Castle Inn - both in Caldecott - offer excellent pub / restaurant setting.
For fishing, the Eyebrook Reservoir is about half a mile away & provides an infamous fishing experience.
Within a short drive there are many other attractions including Rockingham Castle, Rutland Water, Burghley House, Kirby Hall, Dene park and Adrenaline Alley.
